It's odd, isn't it. Both sides are playing test cricket "away from home". I would have thought they'd play at another neutral venue - Dubai?
Anyway, the first test was actually closer than the scores suggest. If you take away the last two Aussie wickets in their first innings, it would have made it a much more interesting game. As it was the Aussies won, pretty much as expected, part-time bowler North got his name on the board at Lords, and BoomBoom decided that captaincy was not for him any more. |

Once again Punter added to his list of strange decisions, something he's had a habit of doing throughout his career.
Watto cuts through the Pak batting lineup in each first innings of the two tests. Yet he hardly bowls in the second innings of each game. O M R W E 7.5 1 40 5 5.10 6 0 26 0 4.33 11 3 33 6 3.00 5 1 18 0 3.60 Is there a logical explanation? I fail to see it. |

Pakistan and West Indies are both very limp. Any team that beats them shouldn't get carried away with the result. Pak bowling lineup isn't too bad though. Many cricketers are having their averages pumped up playing these pathetic units. Try the West Indies circa 1976 - 1990 and see how you go. Boy, their opposition had it tough in that era.
