Is India A Corrupt Country? Options

I've heard/seen things that seem to point out that you're place on the Indian team is how rich you are and what connections you have. People have even pointed it this applies to the whole South Asian continent. I recently talked to some Indians on the cricket team, and ALL of them said there's too much corruption, where one kid who no one has seen before but who's father is really rich immediately makes the team. I'm trying to keep an unbiased view, despite all I've heard. I'm just curious to see what peoples' takes on this is. Please do not mistake me for an Indian hater.
