Man, this England team has just given up and are going through the motions. Flintoff is still bowling well, and Monty still has spring in his step but the rest of them are utter tripe. I predict New Zealand will smash them and send them home with one win in their entire tour. Sickening.

I've gone from trying to defend them to just laughing at them now. They'd be beaten by any good county team at the moment. To borrow someone else's joke, they are so bad in this triangular series they'll be lucky to come 4th.

That was so bad it was almost not worth having the game. To be beaten one wicket down and in the 25th over and that with Haydos playing at 1/3 pace playing himself back into some one day form.

Brilliant bowling by bing. 8 overs, 2 maidens, 2 for 8. Thats awesome and a great 2nd spell by Mitchell. Yes, he was taking middle order and lower batsman and was expensive to start with, but still a great 2nd spell. But, seriously, the Dalby under 9 b's could have blown this England side away. I cannot believe that this is the best England have to offer, I cannot believe that anyone should be allowed to play for their country and not at least put up a fight. Pack them up and put them on a plane and just play the final against NZ, stop wasting hard earned money of spectators who expect to see a fight at least. Shameful display.

Last word. The actions of Mr Ego, Nixon, speak for themselves. Hogs the strike from Monty and gets out next ball from a pathetic shot...please! If I was playing against him now and he was mouthing off, as usual, I would just keep letting him know about his woeful display.

Is the academy team still in Australia? Maybe they would give a better performance right now.

Funny, I was thinking the exact same thing. Nixon looked like a complete idiot out there, trying to keep the ego thing going. Seriously, he's not fooling anyone. His team around him are a bunch of no-hopers. Look at Flintoff for crying out loud. Have a shave ya goose!

Shameful. Funny in a way that they clearly just don't care anymore, but shameful for English supporters.

Jams,

Didn't know about that. Still at least they would have the excuse of youth and experience (lack of) on their side. Are there specialists that do well in the domestic one day tournaments that are not playing? Or is is the foreign players that rule the roost there also?

There is enough talent combining youth and experience in the counties. My England team for the WC, subject to fitness, would look something like this........

Benning (Surrey)
Vaughan
Loye (Lancs)
Pietersen
Ramprakash
Flintoff
Batty (wk, Surrey)
Collingwood
Broad (Leics)
Panesar
Anderson

4 squad members

Strauss
Gough
Snape (Leics)
Maddy (Warks - ex Leics)

Jams, you don't think much of Lewis then?

If you overlooked his nancy-like fielding, I could see him puting in a big performance in the WC.
